The Art of Self-Advocacy

Sunday, January 25th; 1–4 PM PST

What is self-advocacy? It is your child’s ability to identify their strengths and challenges, understand how they learn best, and effectively communicate it to others. This important life skill must be taught , encouraged and nurtured both at school and at home. Strong self-advocates are empowered to achieve success in the classroom and beyond.

Join us at this inspirational family event as local students with dyslexia teach your children how to become strong self-advocates. They will share their personal stories, examples of self-advocacy presentations and tips to support the process. This workshop will include the opportunity to build an outline for your child to create their own individualized presentation.

Following the presentation, there will be a Q&A session with a panel of students, parents and professionals as well as the opportunity to network with local dyslexia resources.
