Dr. Marga Madhuri has been a literacy educator for over 30 years, both in K-12 and Teacher Education. Her interest in how children acquire literacy led to her pursuing a Masters and then PhD in Literacy Education. Following her passion for reading and the brain, Marga earned the Mind, Brain & Teaching certificate from Johns Hopkins University. Marga focuses her work on translating research-to-classroom practices that support students in socio-emotional and academic success. Marga applies brain sciences as chair of the Dyslexia Teacher Training Program through the Center for Neurodiversity, Learning & Wellness (CNLW) at the University of La Verne, where she trains educators in an Orton-Gillingham based program to support students with dyslexia and other challenges in reading, and tutors children directly earning hours towards IMSLEC certification.
